Bush home restoration takes monumental step
A monumental step toward completing the restoration of George W. Bush’s childhood home was announced by State Sen. Teel Bivins on Wednesday. The Texas Historical Commission awarded Midland a Texas Preservation Trust Fund Grant in the amount of $4,000.

Work on the George W. Bush Childhood Home in Midland is “moving forward,” according to Bill Scott, president of George W. Bush Childhood Home, Inc. The non-profit is now steeped in research and on the threshold of fundraising campaigns. “It’s just one step at a time. It’s a slow process, …slow and methodical,” he said.
Group Plans to Renovate, Open Bush Home
Midland-Plans to restore the childhood home of President George W. Bush are now taking shape. A group of realtors is raising money to renovate the Midland home at 1412 W. Ohio St., where George W. Bush and his family lived for several years in the 1950’s.
